Meet Laura Delaney, 2025 Women in Finance Vice Chair
By Laura Delaney, Virtu Financial
2025 STA WIF Vice Chair
Happy New Year from STA Women in Finance! My name is Laura Delaney and I’m so honored to serve as your 2025 Women in Finance Vice Chair. I’ve had the pleasure of working at Virtu Financial (formerly ITG) promoting POSIT Alert and our global trading solutions for the last 18 years. I have been involved with the STA community for many years – I also serve as the Treasurer of Dallas STA and was pleased to host the first ever Women in Finance event at our 2024 Texas Traders Convention.
I’m excited to serve alongside 2025 WIF Chair Christine Lee of Liquidnet and am also looking forward to working with the next generation of wall street women, who are blazing their own paths in this industry!
As we look back on the accomplishments of 2024 and enter 2025, there are many women whose leadership remains a key part of STA’s success. On a grander scale, we have women such as Congresswoman Ann Wagner, who was recently renamed Chair of the HSFC Capital Markets Subcomittee and has spoken at past STA events. However, I’m pleased to work alongside some incredibly talented women within our very own STA leadership. For the first time ever, STA’s Executive Committee is almost entirely women, led by Chair Julie Andress of KeyBanc Capital Markets, Secretary Patty Koetzner of Siebert Williams Shank & Co., and Treasurer Stephanie Minister of LiquidityBook.
One of the most exciting things in store for this year is the 10th anniversary of our Women in Finance Symposium, taking place at the 92nd Annual Market Structure Conference in October. Since its inception in 2015, the WIF Symposium has grown exponentially, with some of the industry’s biggest names taking the stage. Our attendees know that it is now a staple of our program, often kicking off the conference and setting the tone for our incredible content in the following days. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary, we’re doing whatever we can to make it even more memorable – stay tuned.
I’m confident that this year, the Women in Finance Committee on both the national and affiliate levels will bring even further growth to WIF’s mission of advocating for women in our industry. Between the return of our extremely popular Changing the Face of Financial Services interview series, increased affiliate representation and collaboration, and a few more things up our sleeves, we can’t wait to bring you another successful year.
I’d like to thank and congratulate my fellow STA Committee leaders, Board Members, and affiliate board members – we have quite a year ahead of us and we’re ready to tackle it!
