STA Chicago
STAC made community service a priority in 2014. While STAC has and will continue to make monetary donations to worthwhile causes, the Board emphasized volunteer service this year. The most meaningful example of this was STAC’s newly-formed partnership with the Ronald McDonald House (RMH). Board meetings take place at the RMH and after the Board Meetings, Directors and Advisors stick around to help. This includes taking inventory of needed supplies, hosting a craft night with the RMH kids, preparing meals for the families staying at the facility, and much more.
In addition, the STAC Scholarship Fund awarded four $4,000 college scholarships and launched a Next Generation Outreach Initiative to educate college upperclassmen on the securities trading industry. STAC also supported Feed My Starving Children. Funding for these projects and gifting come from member donations, raffles and silent auction, annual Golf Outing, annual Poker Tournament and a new STAC Fund Face-Off hockey tournament.
