2012 Big Heart Award Recipient

Boston STA

The Boston Securities Traders Association (BSTA) continued its partnership with Haymakers for Hope. Haymakers for Hope runs an amateur boxing event where the funds raised help find a cure for cancer, and the event dovetails nicely with BSTA’s night at Fenway. One of BSTA’s members actually boxed in the event in 2012, and BSTA sold well over $6,000 worth of tickets for the charity and created more awareness about the event and the organization.

BSTA partnered with ALS Warriors of Wall Street on its annual charity event that raises money for ALS research. BSTA also supported the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. This organization provides food, clothing and assistance with affordable housing for many of the local Veterans. Last year, BSTA donated more than 400 new pairs of socks to the center. Finally, BSTA continued its partnership with the Cotting School for its annual Holiday Party. The school’s mission is to enable students with special needs to achieve their highest learning potential and level of independence.
