To STA Annual Participants & Friends

I am writing on behalf of the Officers and Governors of STA as well as personally to express our deep appreciation for your support of, and participation in our 77th Annual Conference and Business Meeting.

It is because of you that we are can hold the membership-wide meetings, both our Congressional Conference and our Annual, that provide for the exchange of ideas that directly influence our industry and U.S. market structure. As the role of traders continues to change, the issues we discuss become ever more critical to the success of the securities industry.

The recent 77th Annual Conference and Business Meeting in Washington DC gave traders an opportunity for direct dialogue with legislators, regulators, and industry leaders.

With the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act, the continued concern for market structure, and the evolution of competitive technology, 2011 will be a year of unprecedented change in the securities markets. Given this background, the STA Conferences of 2011 will provide members with both a forum to voice concerns and a mechanism to reach consensus on key issues affecting not only traders, but all facets of the industry.

The 14th Annual Congressional Conference will be held April 12-13, 2011 in Washington D.C. at the Willard InterContinental Hotel.

The 78th Annual Conference and Business Meeting will be held October 12-15, 2011 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL.

We hope you will calendar these important events as you plan for the coming year. Your participation, as a registrant, speaker, sponsor or vendor combine to allow these industry leading forums.
